Beyond the Code
Code enforcement is a technical position which demands that inspectors be well-versed in multiple areas. This new course is designed for all inspectors and provides them with the tools they will need to be successful outside of the technical application to the code.
This course is designed for new and experienced inspectors. It will challenge their assumptions on code enforcement. This course will also provide information that all inspectors must know outside of the code itself.

- State laws and rules that affect the fire inspector
- Legal Issues
- Assistance and Education
- Politics and Communication
- Utilizing Codes and Standards
- Approaches to Code Enforcement
- Adoption of Ordinances
- Public Education
- Basics of Arson Investigation

$150 per person (RAFT Members pay only $100pp)

This includes 12 hours for the certified fire inspector or 12 hours for an Act 54 registered official. This will be a new class number provided by the Bureau of Construction Codes and Fire Safety. Questions on the CE process can be directed to FM Michael O’Brian at 810-225-8033 ext 230.
RAFT is a consortium of fire departments and community colleges designed to improve the quality of training for all public safety officials. Training courses are offered to anyone interested in attending an event, RAFT member or not.
