From Monday, June 9, 2014 through Friday, June 20, 2014, the Supervisor’s Office will be accepting applications for the position of full-time EMT/Firefighter, and to establish a list for full-time EMT/Firefighter.
As a full-time EMT/Firefighter with Bangor Township, this position is under the supervision of the Shift Officer serving on an assigned 24-hour shift. Responsibilities include responding to all emergency medical calls and fire calls as assigned. Must have knowledge and ability to operate all emergency medical and fire equipment of the Fire Department. All rules mandated by the Michigan Department of Health and Bay County Protocols along with Fire Department Standard Operating Procedures must be observed.
The position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), all certificates as required by the Michigan Department of Public Health for EMTs including a current State of Michigan EMT license, State of Michigan Firefighter 240 hour and/or State of Michigan Firefighter I and II certificate and Operational Level Hazardous Materials Certification. Possession of a valid vehicle driver’s license is also required.
Testing as follows: written tests (The written entry level testing will come from the following sources: Fire – IFTSA Essentials of Fire Fighting, 6th Edition), physical ability test, oral interviews, post-offer employment physical and background check.
