Detroit, Highland Park assist Hamtramck Fire Department
A large fire is still burning in Hamtramck which has resulted in a partial closure of I-75 with evacuations. The fire at the Sterling Services building which is involved in Bio-Fuel has drawn resources from Hamtramck Fire Department, with mutual aid from Detroit and Highland Park fire departments.
The detroit news media is reporting that intial reports have indicated the fire started in the area where truck loading occurs. Marathon oil is reporting to provide additional foam to the fire department. The fire is believed to have involved possible diesel fuel or gasoline.

The Firefighter Training Council has made changes to the Firefighter I and II training program. The dates for implementation are drawing closer. As regional training centers and training committees work to establish updates, the OFFT has issued a memorandum with updated requirements for instructors.
This one day course will provide education on fire investigations, plan review techniques, and a great class titled Fire Inspector 101. Multi-Agency Response and Community Evacuation In Vienna Township, multiple fire departments responded to a fire at the White Oil Company.
