Based on the Weather, It Must be Michigan (or the Lions)
It seems that many of us across the State were busy with bad weather. It could have been based on the high winds (up to 55 mph gusts), flooding from melting snow, trees blocking roads, wires down, or even water entering into homes and creating the smell of smoke. Reports of overwhelmed dispatch centers and traffic conditions which affected responses were found all over the State.
I wanted to go to the insiders, you, post your comment about how busy your department was and what is the main cause?

Brighton responded to approx. 29 runs in a 8 hour period , from wires down to downed trees. All went home safe.
I hate to gloat but for once it was just another day in the western UP. Nothing extrordinary happened for us and the weather wasn’t unusually bad.
As we have all of this weather, and if your department is looking for Swiftwater/Flood Rescue training. Or really what should we do and more importantly not do in these flood waters, give me a call at 616-889-3784 or send me an e-mail. Be safe Lee
