Firefighter Tigers

Detroit Tigers have paid a visit to the Detroit Fire Department.  Several Tigers have given a an autographed fire department helmet and custom Walter Harris jersey to the fellow firefighters and family of Walter Harris.

On a separate day Detroit Tigers were treated as fire fighters for a couple hours as they worked through a maze and donned fire gear at the Detroit Fire Academy.

Livonia Fire Department, 6 fires in 5 days

In a recent rash of fires, Livonia Fire Officals are recommending that homeowners use heating and candles with care.  The 6 fires have kept this suburban fire department busy.  Livonia Fire Department covers 36 square miles from 5 fire stations.

Venting the Roof

Novi Firefighters stretched on a multi-family dwelling fire that spread to over 4 units.  Fire fighters extinguished the fire without injury, although the spread of the fire was contributed to the construction materials, lack of residential sprinklers, and delayed notification.
