Large Working Fire at Former Detroit Landmark

Detroit firefighters are working on a multiple single alarm fire at the former Packard Plant in Detroit. The abandon multiple story, warehouse is full of debris, plastic materials and other trash that has been dumped over the years. The fire appears to be working on fourth floor. Engine 23 and other companies stood by and it appears the fire is starting to burn its self out.
The site has limited access, the lack of working sprinkler system, and the building is in a poor state of repair. The fire is producing large amounts of smoke that can be seen from miles way.

Thanks Dan for the update it was based on some information that one of our readers had sent us, since it seemed some of the news media had different views. Thanks again for helping us get the facts right!
We had a fire at a abandoned zinc plant several years ago. Come to found out it was being used for a meth lab.
