The Bureau of Fire Services and the Office of Fire Fighter Training have created a new Information Management System which is now up and running. The new system is designed to allow Fire Chiefs and Training Officers to stay on-top of their department personnel training records.
The system also allows users to get their current history of training on file with the MFFTC.

Ron Farr, the long time secretary of the Michigan Fire Inspectors Society, has been appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm as the new State Fire Marshal. The post was vacated last year by Representative Andrew Newman as his successful bid for the Michigan House of Representatives.
Farr will head up the department working with the current Deputy Director Tony Sanfillippo who served as the Acting Fire Marshal during the vacancy. Farr will retire as Fire Chief from the Kalamazoo Township. He has [click to continue…]
