Council to Vote on Budget
The Detroit City Council is due to vote on the $3.5 billion dollar budget this week. The budget restores approximately 19 EMS positions within the fire department although additional layoffs within the city are anticipated.
The Detroit News is reporting that nearly 300 layoffs will occur in the City Government and nearly 500 positions will not be filled that are currently open.
