Early Saturday evening a Detroit Fire Department, EMS Unit was traveling on Grand River when it was involved in an accident with a van. Two children were thrown from the vehicle that were not restrained in the car.

The Detroit Fire Department sustained a loss this morning with the station housing Ladder 14 caught fire. The station is located near the corner of Crane and Brinket.
The Detroit News is reporting that the fire was started by a “sleepy fire fighter” who was on night watch and lit some incense, then put a towel over a lamp. Ladder 14 was dispatched to a possible structure fire and returned to find their house on fire. The possible cause appears to be the towel left on the lamp. [click to continue…]
