The 21st annual juvenile fire setter program is set for March 18 and 19, 2010 in Mt. Pleasant Michigan. The program has multiple speakers and will cover many topics which include:

Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist I

Two Day Course Presented by The Regional Alliance for Firefighter Training

This is the two day, National Fire Academy Program Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist I hosted by RAFT at Sterling Heights Fire Department.

Students will be introduced to the NFPA 1035, Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist I Professional Standard.  The individual will learn to conduct an interview with firesetters and their families using prepared forms and guidelines.  Based on recommended practice, students may determine the need for referral for counseling and/or implement educational intervention strategies to mitigate effects of firesetting behavior.
