Saginaw and Oscoda Fire Departments Respond

Tuesday morning proved to be deadly for two Michigan residents and several others were injuried including three Saginaw firefighters in overnight fires.

The first fire came in near 12:45am as residents worked to rescue and alert the occupants that their single family home was on fire.  The house, which was not protected with residential sprinklers, was full of smoke.  As firefighters arrived they rescued 2 young boys, performed CPR, and continued medical treatment until they were turned over to EMS care.  Louann Lemmer died in the fire.  Three firefighters had minor injuries from the fire.

A fire in a home on South Deeter Road in Luzerne (Oscoda County) claimed the life of the occupant.  The fire, which is under investigation, destroyed most of the single family home.  Firefighters worked to save the person although the building was too involved which hampered their attempts.
